Three Wheeler Retail Sales Hiked by 81.47% in February 2023
Bajaj Auto sold 27,678 units, while Mahindra saw an extraordinary growth of 125.19% in February 2023 sales
Recently, the Federation of Automobiles Dealership Associations (FADA) released the Three wheeler sales figures 2023 for February month of 2023. The 3W segment observed sales of 72,994 units, with a sales growth of 81.47% in February 2023 compared to 40,224 units in February 2022.
Commenting on how the month of February 2023 performed, FADA President Mr. Manish Raj Singhania said, “The 3-Wheeler segment has witnessed 81% growth YoY and has also grown by 3% when compared to Pre-COVID month of February’20. This category has seen drastic growth due to the Central & State Government’s subsidies and good scheme promotion done by the states. Along with this, aggressive finance schemes continue to aid growth in this category.”

Brand Wise 3-wheeler Sales Report Data of February 2023
Bajaj: Bajaj Auto continues to be the top-performing 3-wheeler brand in India. As per the FADA Three Wheeler Sales figure for February 2023, the company sold 27,678 units in February 2023, which was 14,188 units in February 2022. As a result, it saw a sales growth of 95.08%.
Piaggio: According to the FADA Three Wheeler Sales Data for the month of February 2023, the company sold 6,098 units in February 2023, which was 4,123 units in February 2022. As a result, it witnessed a sales growth of 47.90%.
Y.C. Electric: This brand experienced a sales growth of 40.68% in its retail sales for February 2023, as it sold 2,583 units in February 2023 compared to 1,836 units in February 2022.
Mahindra: This commercial brand observed a positive sales trend of 125.19% in its retail sales for February 2023, as it sold 2,932 units in February 2023 compared to 1,302 units in February 2022.
Mayuri: This company showed an upward trend of 106.39% in its retail sales, selling 1,839 units in February 2023 compared to 891 units in February 2022.
Atul Auto: This 3 wheeler brand saw a growth of 53.87% in its retail sales report, as it sold 1,908 units in February 2023 compared to 1,240 units in February 2022.
Citylife: This three-wheeler company experienced a sales growth of 114.90% in the February retail sales data, as it sold 1,528 units in February 2023 compared to 711 units in February 2022.
Saarthi: This brand showed a sales growth of 69.54% in its February retail sales report, as it sold 1,236 units in February 2023 compared to 729 units in February 2022.
TVS Motors: This company witnessed an 80.49% sales growth in its February retail sales figure 2023, as it sold 1,323 units in February 2023 compared to 733 units in February 2022.
Mini Metro: This 3 wheeler company obtained a positive growth of 78.07% in the 3-wheelers retail sales data February 2023, as it sold 942 units in February 2023 compared to 529 units in February 2023.
J.S. Auto: This brand highlighted sales growth of 105.19% in the Three Wheeler Sales Report February 2023, as it sold 909 units in February 2023 compared to 443 units in February 2022.
All other brands, including electric vehicle manufacturers, highlighted a surge of 77.92% as they sold 24,018 three wheeler sales in India in February 2023, as compared to 13,499 units in February 2022. The sector is growing steadily, opening up new opportunities for market participants. As we've seen in previous years, the major CV or 2-wheeler manufacturers now have 3-wheeler vehicles.
