Ashok Leyland, a well-known manufacturer of commercial vehicles, introduced the Ecoment STAR 1815 truck on Wednesday in the 17.5 T GVW category. The truck has the best fuel mileage. Via a press release from Ashok Leyland, we learnt this product is aimed at long-haul customers looking for a bigger payload with 4-cylinder engines for quicker turnaround.
This truck has a modern digital dashboard with enhanced Digital Driver Assist and H series engines with 150 HP and 450 Nm torque (ADDA). In addition, it is available with the brand-new white colour cabin and has advanced telematics (i-Alert), remote diagnostics, and round-the-clock customer support through the Uptime Solution Centre.

With the new Ecomet STAR 1815, we set our footprint in the 17.5T segment and ensure higher profitability for our customers in logistics, e-commerce, parcel, agri- perishable, cement and industrial goods applications.”
The Star 1815 has a load body with 10-wheel front, and rear axles, a payload of 11.74 tonnes, 295/90 R20 tube tyres, and an HSS (high strength steel) frame that is 7mm thick.
