Ashok Leyland, a major commercial vehicle maker in India, has announced that it will open more than 50 new dealerships and service outlets in northern India this year. The company already has around 300 touchpoints in the region and now wants to grow even further.
Strong Demand in Northern India Fuels Growth

With rising infrastructure projects and faster economic growth in the region, the demand for commercial vehicles is also increasing. Ashok Leyland wants to tap into this growth by making its vehicles and services more easily available.
Delhi: A Key Market for M&HCV Segment
Delhi plays an important role in Ashok Leyland’s Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCV) business. The city sees high freight movement and is also getting many infrastructure upgrades. Because of this, the need for strong and reliable truck is growing.
In the past three years, Ashok Leyland has increased its market share by 6.5 percentage points in northern India. This shows that more customers are choosing the brand for their transport needs.
Focus on Customers and Future Growth
Sanjeev Kumar, President of M&HCV at Ashok Leyland, said, “The company’s focus on customer needs and offering low-cost ownership has helped it grow.
Moreover, the company plans to improve support and service in remote and busy transport hubs. This move is part of its bigger plan to support India's transport sector through better reach and faster servic.”.
