New Electric Rickshaw to Launch in July 2025

Bajaj Auto Ltd. is preparing to launch its new electric rickshaw under the 'GoGo' brand by early July 2025. This new product will run on a lithium-ion battery and is expected to offer better range and low maintenance. With this step, Bajaj Auto wants to become a key player in India’s fast-growing electric three-wheeler market.

Bajaj’s Growing Strength in the EV Segment

Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto, shared that “the company is doing well in the electric auto sector. In fact, its market share has grown from 17% in FY24 to 33% in FY25. As a result, Bajaj Auto became the number one electric auto company in India during April and May 2025.”

In addition, Sharma said that the electric three-wheeler market is large but still has many low-quality products. Bajaj aims to offer a reliable and well-designed e-rickshaw that improves travel for both drivers and passengers.

Better Quality, More Comfort for Drivers and Passengers

The upcoming e-rickshaw will be built using the latest lithium-ion battery technology. This will help in giving better mileage and will also need less maintenance. Bajaj Auto hopes this new rickshaw will set a new standard in the electric three-wheeler category.

Back in February 2025, the company launched its ‘GoGo’ brand for electric vehicles and introduced three passenger variants. Now, the upcoming launch of the e-rickshaw will be another step toward expanding its electric product line.

Targeting a 40,000-Unit Monthly Segment

Sharma also added that the company is focusing on a segment that sells around 40,000 units every month. While FY26 will be a time for learning and improving, Bajaj Auto wants to grow step-by-step by listening to user feedback and making changes to meet real-world needs.

Future Looks Bright for Bajaj’s Three-Wheeler Business

Despite some challenges like fuel type shifts and market changes, Sharma remains confident about the future of the three-wheeler market. He said the company’s commercial vehicle business has already reached its highest-ever revenue, with strong performance in both petrol and electric vehicles.

In conclusion, Bajaj Auto is now ready to change the game in the e-rickshaw space with a high-quality, smart, and driver-friendly product.
