Blue Energy LNG Trucks Cover 50 Million Kms, Deliver Major CO₂ Savings

Green Truck Fleet Hits Major Milestone on Indian Highways

Blue Energy Motors has achieved a major milestone by crossing 50 million kilometers on Indian roads with its LNG-powered truck fleet. Along with this, the company has successfully prevented 14,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. This achievement is equal to the annual carbon absorption of more than 560,000 trees.

This development marks a key step in India's journey towards its net zero emissions goal by 2070. Commercial vehicles play a major role in pollution, even though they make up only 4% of the total vehicle fleet. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, they contribute nearly 40% of road transport CO₂ emissions.

LNG Trucks Offer Environmental and Economic Benefits

Blue Energy Motors’ LNG trucks are proving to be cleaner alternatives to diesel trucks. They reduce carbon emissions by up to 30% and also cut down harmful pollutants like particulate matter and nitrogen oxides. These trucks are best suited for long-distance highway transport where cleaner fuel use brings significant benefits.

In addition to helping the environment, these trucks also lower running costs for fleet operators. As a result, they offer both environmental and economic value.

Company's Approach Supports Sustainable Freight Movement

The company’s LNG fleet shows how alternative fuel technologies can be practically used in commercial transport. These trucks continue to perform efficiently on Indian highways while contributing to a cleaner atmosphere. Blue Energy Motors’ efforts support India's push for sustainable freight movement and cleaner logistics.

According to Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors,

“Crossing the milestone of 50 million kms is a proud moment. With 14,000 tonnes of CO₂ saved, it’s a strong reflection of our commitment to driving sustainable change. This equals the annual carbon absorption of over 5,60,000 trees. We are building a complete ecosystem of sustainable commercial vehicles for the future.”

Expansion Plans Include Electric Truck Launch

Blue Energy Motors also has plans to add electric heavy-duty trucks to its portfolio. These trucks will be used for short-haul transport, complementing the LNG trucks used for long-distance routes. This dual approach helps the company address both immediate and long-term sustainability goals.

By offering both LNG and electric trucks, the company aims to support India’s clean transport shift across different types of freight movement.

Partnership with Maharashtra to Boost LNG Infrastructure

The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to promote LNG trucks in the state. The partnership includes the development of LNG refueling stations and other key infrastructure to support green logistics operations.

This move is expected to boost the use of alternative fuels in commercial transportation and provide the needed support to scale up green trucking across India.

Strengthening Green Mobility with Strategic Partnerships

Blue Energy Motors is also a part of Essar’s green mobility initiative. Together, they are building full transport solutions that include alternative fuel vehicles, support systems, and service networks. The company’s business model focuses on offering not just clean trucks but also the ecosystem required to operate and maintain them.

With these combined efforts, Blue Energy Motors is working to become a key player in India's green transportation sector. The 50-million-kilometre milestone proves that LNG trucks are ready for large-scale use and are already making a difference on Indian highways.
