Commercial Vehicles Sales Increased by 76% in June 2022

The commercial vehicle sector continued the positive run on the sales chart for another month.

The industries have released the sales data for June 2022, and all the major automakers experienced a nominal growth in their numbers. Last year the sales were disturbed because the pandemic was all over the world, but June of this year has seen an enormous rise in the sales of commercial vehicles. 

Tata Motors, The biggest automaker in India, also saw a positive side in their sales data for June 2022. The company sold 34,409 units of Commercial vehicles, increasing by 76% of the 19,594 units as of June'21. The category-wise sales are; M&HCV increased by 75%, I&LCV by 69% and the Pickup & cargo range was up by 57%. 

Ashok Leyland, which the Hinduja Group owns, has reported a sale of 7703 commercial vehicle units in June 2022. The industry increased CV sales by 241% over the 2259 units of last June. Overall the company sold 13,469 units, increasing by 130% from the 5851 units last year. 

Eicher Motors' domestic sales increased by 217%. The company sold 5584 units of commercial vehicles, whereas the numbers were 1760 units in June last year. The 3.5-ton to 15-ton commercial vehicle range experienced growth of 133.7% in the previous month. 

Mahindra & Mahindra announced the comprehensive sales data for June 2022. The company has disclosed that they sold 20,431 commercial vehicles, in which the LCV segment of less than 2 ton GVW has 3,410 sold units, the LCV range of 2 ton to 3.5 tonnes has 16,405 units, and the HCV segment has 616 units. In addition, under the Three-wheelers and Electric three-wheelers segment, 4008 sold units with a growth of 434%. 

The Commercial vehicle sector is developing again as the construction works, school facilities and the workplace are getting back on track. However, some industries still have a shortage of semiconductors, which is regulating their outputs.
