A Major Boost to Highway Connectivity and Travel Experience
Starting this June, travelers between Delhi and Jaipur can look forward to a smoother and quicker drive. Thanks to a newly constructed stretch of road, the Bandikui-Jaipur expressway link is all set to cut down travel time to just two and a half hours, making it a game-changer for both personal commutes and truck logistics.
This new link road connects Bandikui on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway directly to the Jaipur Ring Road, reducing the total distance by around 20 kilometres. For fleet owners and transport operators, this route adds speed and efficiency, particularly useful for commercial vehicles.
Key Highlights of the New Expressway Link
- A 67-kilometre controlled-access highway from Bandikui to Jaipur to ease traffic congestion.
- Cuts travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to 2.5 hours.
- Bypasses the slower NH-21 route currently used via Dausa.
- Offers uninterrupted movement, ideal for truck operators and regular commuters.
- Only one construction segment pending—rail overbridge on the Delhi-Ahmedabad railway line.
- Final opening expected by end of May, with a temporary detour in place if required.
Easing Logistics and Boosting Commuter Confidence
According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), this new link will eliminate bottlenecks and enhance the overall travel experience. Travelers from Delhi, Gurgaon, and Faridabad currently face slowdowns while exiting at Dausa and navigating NH-21. The new road aims to fix this issue by offering seamless, high-speed connectivity.
The improved alignment is especially helpful for highway users who depend on reliable road access—such as fleet operators, goods carriers, and logistics providers. The route fits perfectly into the movement plans of vehicles commonly seen on Indian highways like Tata and Mahindra.
DND Flyway-KMP Link: More Convenience by December
In another key development, a nine-kilometer stretch connecting the DND Flyway to the KMP Interchange is expected to open by December. This will be particularly beneficial for people traveling from Noida, Ghaziabad, and East Delhi, making the route to Jaipur faster and more direct.
This stretch, when combined with the Bandikui-Jaipur road, is expected to remove delays caused by detours through towns and villages, allowing faster travel not only for personal vehicles but also for interstate truck fleets.
Safety and Quality: NHAI’s Top Priority
NHAI Chairman Santosh Yadav emphasised the importance of quality before public use. “We cannot allow potholes and complaints after opening,” he said. “It's better to delay slightly and make sure the roads are good and safe.” He further instructed engineers to test the roads extensively and ensure they are fit for heavy vehicles and long-distance travel.
Strong Government Focus on Road Infrastructure
This development shows how India’s highway network is growing. As a result, it supports trucks from Tata, Mahindra, and Ashok Leyland, making road transport smoother for all.
The new Bandikui-Jaipur link isn’t just about speed—it’s about building a smarter, more connected India. With logistics, tourism, and business all set to gain, the Delhi-Jaipur route is entering a new chapter in infrastructure development.
