New 66 KM Spur Reduces Delhi-Jaipur Travel Time by 1 Hour

Travelling between Delhi and Jaipur just became easier and faster. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has built a brand new 66.916 KM long spur that connects the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway directly to Jaipur. This road project is a big step towards improving highway travel in India. It not only cuts down the distance between Delhi and Jaipur by 12 KM but also saves up to 45 minutes of travel time. This new stretch is set to change how people and goods move between these two major cities.

New Highway Brings Direct Jaipur Link to Expressway

The newly built spur is a part of the Delhi-Vadodara Greenfield Expressway. This four-lane highway starts from Bandikui and leads directly to Jaipur. Built at a cost of ₹2,016 crore, the foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 12, 2023. According to NHAI officials, the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur will now take just about 3 to 3.25 hours.

This improvement comes as a major relief to daily commuters, transport companies, and logistics businesses that earlier had to rely on crowded highways like NH-48 (Delhi-Gurugram-Jaipur) and NH-21 (Jaipur-Dausa).

Less Traffic, More Efficiency for All Vehicles

Until now, there was no direct link from Jaipur to the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway. Due to this, commercial vehicles, trucks, and trailers had to take longer and congested routes. However, with the new highway, there will be less traffic pressure on NH-48 and NH-21.

In addition, this change benefits a wide range of vehicle users—from light commercial vehicles (LCVs) like pickups and tempo travellers to heavy-duty trucks carrying large loads. This route will ensure faster, smoother, and safer transport.

Moreover, logistics companies using long-haul trucks and trailers can now reach their destinations quicker, saving both fuel and time. This will also reduce maintenance costs for transporters, thanks to less time spent in slow traffic.

Jaipur is a famous tourist city with landmarks like Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, and Jantar Mantar. With this new connection, tourists from Delhi and other parts of North India can reach Jaipur faster. This is expected to boost tourism and help local businesses.

Besides tourism, farmers and traders will also benefit. The new highway will make it easier for them to transport goods such as vegetables, fruits, grains, and other products to different markets. It also supports fast delivery for temperature-controlled goods using reefer trucks and pickups.
