3-Wheeler Retail Sales See a 1.92% Decline in February 2025
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has reported a 1.92% decline in retail sales for three-wheelers in February 2025. The total sales for the month stood at 94,181 units, compared to 96,020 units in February 2024, reflecting a slight downturn in the segment.
3-Wheeler Sales Performance Across Major Brands
According to the latest FADA data, some brands experienced growth, while others faced a decline. Notably, Mahindra & Mahindra, TVS Motors, and Atul Auto showed positive sales momentum, whereas Bajaj and Piaggio witnessed a drop in numbers.

Bajaj remained the market leader but saw a slight decline in sales, recording 34,644 units in February 2025, down from 35,434 units in February 2024, reflecting a 2.23% drop. The dip in numbers could be due to market fluctuations and increasing competition.

Piaggio faced a notable setback, with sales falling to 6,651 units in February 2025 from 8,266 units in February 2024, marking a 19.54% decline. Despite this, Piaggio continues to be a strong player in the three-wheeler market, particularly in the cargo segment.

Mahindra Group achieved an 11.30% growth, selling 6,501 units in February 2025 compared to 5,841 units in February 2024. The brand's focus on expanding its product portfolio, including electric and fuel-based three-wheelers, has contributed to this steady growth.

Y.C. Electric maintained stability, with sales slightly increasing from 3,356 units in February 2024 to 3,372 units in February 2025, reflecting a marginal 0.48% growth. The brand continues to cater to the growing demand for electric three-wheelers.

TVS Motors recorded an impressive 25.37% growth, selling 2,431 units in February 2025, up from 1,939 units in February 2024. The company's growth is attributed to its strong dealer network and rising demand for its last-mile mobility solutions.

Atul Auto also showed strong growth, registering an 18.24% increase in sales, rising from 1,968 units in February 2024 to 2,327 units in February 2025. This rise is due to the brand’s increasing focus on expanding its market reach.

Mayuri saw a minor decline of 0.72%, with sales slipping from 2,090 units in February 2024 to 2,075 units in February 2025. However, the brand remains a preferred choice for budget-conscious buyers.

City life experienced a 14.61% decline in sales, dropping from 1,991 units in February 2024 to 1,709 units in February 2025. The decline suggests increasing competition in the affordable electric vehicle space.

The "Others Including EV" category, which consists of smaller OEMs, recorded sales of 34,471 units in February 2025, down from 35,135 units in February 2024, showing a 1.89% decline. The segment remains crucial for the industry's overall market share.
