FADA Reports 107,033 Three-Wheeler Sales in January 2025

3-Wheeler Retail Sales See 6.86% Growth in January 2025

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has reported a 6.86% increase in retail sales for three-wheelers in January 2025. The total sales for the month reached 107,033 units, compared to 100,160 units in January 2024, highlighting a continued positive trend in the market.

According to the latest FADA data, several brands experienced significant growth, while others faced slight declines. The market expansion was primarily driven by strong performances from Mahindra & Mahindra, TVS Motors, and Atul Auto.

  • Bajaj

Bajaj maintained its market leadership, selling 39,488 units in January 2025, up from 37,148 units in January 2024, marking a 6.30% increase. The company's consistent performance in the segment highlights its strong consumer base and widespread availability of models catering to various commercial and passenger needs.

  • Piaggio

Piaggio experienced a slight decline, with sales dropping to 7,904 units in January 2025 from 8,271 units in January 2024, reflecting a 4.44% decrease. Despite this dip, Piaggio remains a strong player in the three-wheeler market, offering a range of fuel-efficient and electric models designed to meet evolving customer demands.

  • Mahindra & Mahindra Group

Mahindra posted an impressive 30.38% growth, selling 6,931 units in January 2025 compared to 5,316 units in January 2024. The company’s consistent upward trajectory can be attributed to its focus on innovative electric and fuel-based three-wheelers, catering to an expanding market.

  • Y.C. Electric

Y.C. Electric saw a steady rise, selling 3,882 units in January 2025, up from 3,375 units in January 2024, a growth of 15.02%. This constant increase underscores the growing consumer preference for electric three-wheelers, supported by advancements in battery technology and infrastructure.

  • Atul Auto

Atul Auto achieved remarkable growth of 32.24%, with sales increasing from 2,078 units in January 2024 to 2,748 units in January 2025. The company’s expansion can be linked to its aggressive market strategies and the introduction of new models that offer enhanced performance and efficiency.

  • TVS Motors

TVS Motors recorded the highest growth percentage among major brands, with a 46.90% increase, selling 2,703 units in January 2025, up from 1,840 units in January 2024. The company’s rapid growth reflects its strong product portfolio, robust dealer network, and increasing demand for last-mile mobility solutions.

  • Mayuri

Mayuri's sales declined slightly, from 2,361 units in January 2024 to 2,270 units in January 2025, a 3.85% drop. Despite the dip, the brand remains popular for its affordable and durable models, particularly in rural and semi-urban markets.

  • City life

City life, under Dilli Electric Auto Pvt. Ltd., saw a 4.14% decline in sales, selling 1,924 units in January 2025 compared to 2,007 units in January 2024. The decline might be attributed to increasing competition in the electric vehicle segment, yet the brand continues to attract buyers looking for cost-effective e-mobility solutions.

  • Others Including EV

The category "Others, including EV," recorded a growth of 3.76%, with sales increasing to 39,183 units in January 2025 from 37,764 units in January 2024. The growing adoption of electric vehicles and new entrants in the market contributed to this steady rise in sales.
