Commercial Vehicle and Three-Wheeler Sales Grew by 7.51% in January 2025
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released the latest retail sales data for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three-wheelers. In January 2025, combined sales for these segments stood at 206,458 units, reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 7.51% compared to 192,037 units in January 2024.
While the three-wheeler segment grew by 6.86%, reaching 107,033 units from 100,160 units last year, the commercial vehicle segment registered a higher growth rate of 8.22%, with sales increasing to 99,425 units from 91,877 units in January 2024.

E-RICKSHAW (P)
The e-rickshaw (passenger) segment witnessed a 4.21% decline in January 2025, with sales dropping to 38,830 units compared to 40,537 units in January 2024.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)
This category showed an impressive 53.85% growth, selling 5,760 units in January 2025, compared to 3,744 units in the previous year.

THREE-WHEELER (GOODS)
The three-wheeler goods segment reported a strong YoY growth of 12.32%, with sales rising to 12,036 units in January 2025 from 10,716 units in January 2024.

THREE-WHEELER (PASSENGER)
The passenger three-wheeler category recorded 11.55% growth, selling 50,322 units in January 2025 compared to 45,113 units in January 2024.

THREE-WHEELER (PERSONAL)
This segment experienced a substantial increase of 70.00%, with sales rising to 85 units in January 2025 from 50 units in the previous year.

The LCV segment saw a 10.05% YoY increase, with sales rising to 56,410 units in January 2025 compared to 51,260 units in January 2024.

MCVs recorded a remarkable 24.87% growth, with sales reaching 6,975 units in January 2025, up from 5,586 units in January 2024.

HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles)
The HCV segment witnessed a slight decline of 0.53%, with sales at 30,061 units in January 2025 compared to 30,220 units in January 2024.

Other commercial vehicle categories experienced significant growth of 24.28%, reaching 5,979 units in January 2025 from 4,811 units in January 2024.
