FADA August Retail Sales Saw a 66.15% Surge in the Three-Wheeler Vehicles Sales
FADA, the Federation Of Automobile Dealership Associations, has revealed the Combined commercial vehicle sales of August 2023. This report includes all the categories of 3-wheeler and commercial vehicles.
According to this combined sales report, 1,75,201 units in August 2023 total. In contrast, they sold 1,33,072 CV units in the same month last year. The three-wheeler segment sold 99,907 units in August 2023 against the 60,132 units in August 2022. At the same time, the CV segment sold 75,294 units, with a 3.23% hike compared to 72,940 in August 2022.

FADA Sales Report by Segment - Three-Wheeler
E-RICKSHAW (P)
The passenger category of three-wheelers sold the highest number of vehicles in the August 2023 sales. The segment sold 46,174 units in August 2023 against 29,274 units and witnessed a growth of 57.73%.
E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)
This goods E-Rickshaw category sold 3,095 units in August 2023 against 1,446 units in August 2022. As a result, it generated a growth of 114.04% in Y-O-Y sales.
THREE WHEELER (GOODS)
This 3-wheeler segment observed a slight growth of 40.47% in its August 2023 sales figure. Its sold units were 9,060 in August 2023, compared to 6,450 in August 2022.
THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)
The passenger Three Wheeler segment registered a growth of 81.09% in the sales of August 2023. This category sold 41,482 units, which was 22,907 in the same month last year.
THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)
The personal three-wheeler segment also ended the month with a positive rise in the chart with 74.55%. The segment completed sales of 96 units against the 55 units in August 2022.
FADA Sales Report by Segment - Commercial Vehicles (CV)
The Commercial vehicle segment is also divided into categories, which are LCV, MCV, HCV and others. Following is the explained sales report of all CV categories.
LCV
The LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) category registered a drop of 3.25% in sales. The segment sold 45,403 units of vehicles in August 2022, which decreased to 43,929 in August 2023.
MCV
The MCV segment closed with 5,895 sold units in August 2023 against the 5,119 units in August 2022. As a result, the segment grew by 15.16%.
HCV
The HCV or heavy commercial vehicle segment sold 22,137 vehicle units in August 2023. In comparison, in August 2022, the segment had sold 20,713 units. As a result, the segment witnessed a hike of 6.87%.
Others
Along with this, all the other categories of CV completed the August 2023 sales with 95.48% growth. Other types sold 3,333 this August against the 1,705 units of August 2022.
