The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association revealed the sales data of Commercial Vehicles in September 2023. Daimler India recorded the highest growth in the September Y-O-Y sales of 39.77%.
FADA, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, has shared the truck sales data in India. It showcases the sales of popular Indian CV manufacturers in September 2023 and a year-on-year comparison with September 2022 sales.
According to this, the truck sales figures September 2023 were closed at 80,804, outnumbering the 77,054 units of September 2022. As a result, it recorded a growth of 4.87%.
Official Statement of FADA:-
Mr Manish Raj Singhania, president of FADA, commented on the September Performance and said, "Sept '23 showcased a resilient CV segment, observing a noticeable demand in coal, cement and general market load sectors, with the passenger carrier segment also experiencing a favourable uptick. This positive trend can be attributed to the adequate deployment of funds from the Central Government towards Infrastructure development, which fostered an environment for bulk deals, especially in Tippers and government sectors. Furthermore, there was a discernible improvement in market sentiment postCovid, supporting a healthy traction in HCVs, Buses and LCVs and signalling a revitalized tourism market."

Tata Motors: -
Tata Motors, India's biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has witnessed a drop in sales. The brand sold 29,229 CVs in September 2023, against the 30,214 units of September 2022. According to the data, the brand's sales experienced a significant drop of 3.26%.
Mahindra & Mahindra: -
Mahindra Trucks sold 20,694 units of commercial vehicles in September 2023. In comparison, the brand closed the same month last year with 18,358 sold units. As a result, the brand experienced a growth of 12.72% in the September YO-Y sales.
Ashok Leyland: -
Ashok Leyland ended the month with a sales growth of 1.76% in September 2023. The brand sold 12,470 Commercial Vehicles in September last year, which increased to 12,690 units this year.
VECV: -
VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Trucks India and Eicher Trucks. This joint venture sold 5,694 CV units in September 2023, which closed at 4,983 units in September 2022—resulting in a sales growth of 14.27%.
Maruti Suzuki:-
Maruti Suzuki is steadily creating a good market in the commercial vehicle space. The brand has created a growth of 9.66% in the month of September. They sold 3,486 in September 2023 and closed with 3,179 units in September 2022.
Daimler:-
Daimler India or BharatBenz Trucks has gained the highest growth percentage in September 2023. The brand sold 1,673 units of Commercial Vehicles in September 2023, which was 1,197 units in September 2022. As a result, it registered a growth of 39.77%.
Force Motors Limited:-
Force Motors is a popular commercial vehicle manufacturer in India. The brand closed the month of September 2023 with 15.10% growth in sales. Force sold 1,258 units this September against the 1,093 units of September last year.
SML Isuzu:-
SML Isuzu also matched up with the growth of other OEMs. The brand recorded an increase of 2.56% in September 2023. The brand sold 760 units of CVs in September 2023, outnumbering the 741 units of September last year.
Moreover, all the other brands contributed 5,320 CV units in September this year against the 4,819 units in September 2022. Resulting in a sales hike of 10.40%.
