FADA Recorded a 1.31% Surge in CV Sales for Dec 2023, with 73,896 Units Sold

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association has disclosed the commercial vehicle sales figures for December 2023. Force Motors Limited, a Firodia Enterprise and an Indian manufacturer has demonstrated a noteworthy 15.24% year-on-year growth in sales for December.

In its report on December 2023 truck sales, comparing the numbers with December 2022 for prominent Indian CV manufacturers, FADA has revealed that truck sales hit 73,896 units in December 2023. Conversely, December 2022 saw sales of 72,944 units, reflecting a 1.31% increase.

Commenting on December’23 and CY’23 Auto Retails, FADA President, Mr Manish Raj Singhania, said, “December'23 was an overall good month for Indian Auto Retail, as total retail during the period saw a growth of 21% YoY. All categories closed in green, with 2W, 3W, PV, Trac and CV growing on a YoY basis by 28%, 36%, 3%, 0.2% and 1.3%, respectively.
Brand-Wise Commercial Vehicles Sales Data

Tata Motors

Tata Motors is India's biggest commercial vehicle manufacturer. The Tata Truck brand faced a 5.54% sales loss. They sold 26,205 CVs in December 2023, against 27,743 units in Dec 2022.  

Mahindra & Mahindra

Mahindra Trucks sold 19,662 units of commercial vehicles in December 2023. In comparison, the brand closed the same month last year with 18,084 units. As a result, the brand grew 8.73% in December YO-Y sales.

Ashok Leyland

Ashok Leyland ended the month with a sales increase of 1.24% in December 2023. The brand sold 11,287 CVs in December last year, which increased to 11,427 units this year.

VECV

VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Trucks India and Eicher Trucks. They sold 4,851 CV units in December 2023, which closed at 4,443 units in December 2022, resulting in a sales surge of 9.18%.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki experienced a loss of 2.88% in December. They sold 3,165 units in December 2023, while they closed with 3,259 in Dec 2022.

Daimler

Daimler India, or BharatBenz Trucks, gained a significant growth percentage in December 2023. The brand sold 1,534 CV in Dec 2023, compared to 1,526 units in December 2022. As a result, it registered a growth of 0.52%.

Force Motors Limited

This is yet another popular commercial vehicle manufacturer in India. Force Motors closed the month of December 2023 with a 15.24% maximum growth in sales. It sold 877 units this December, compared to 761 last year.

SML Isuzu

SML Isuzu recorded an increase of 4.54% in December 2023. The brand sold 622 units of CVs in December 2023, outnumbering the 595 units in December last year. 

Moreover, all the other brands contributed 5,553 CV units in December this year, compared to 5,246 units in Dec 2022. This resulted in a sales hike of 5.85%.
