Isuzu Achieves New Export Milestone
In India, Isuzu Motors has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the top commercial vehicle exporter in India for FY2025. The company exported 20,312 units in FY2024-25, showing a 24% growth when compared to 16,329 units in FY2024. This growth highlights the strong demand for Isuzu vehicles in international markets.
D-Max Pickup Drives Export Success
The company builds the D-Max pickup trucks at its Sri City manufacturing plant in Andhra Pradesh. These pickups are made for both commercial and personal use. A significant portion of the company’s business is derived from the sale of commercial vehicles, particularly the D-Max range. The plant also makes the V-Cross lifestyle pickup, which is popular among private buyers.
In addition, Isuzu exports the D-Max pickup to both left-hand drive and right-hand drive markets. Some of the main export countries include Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, and the nations of the Middle East. This wide export network shows the global reach of India-made Isuzu vehicles.
Company Leaders Share Their Views
Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, stated that this success demonstrates the strength of Isuzu’s global production system, known as Isuzu Monozukuri. He added, “Every vehicle made in India follows the same global quality standards. Our plant in Sri City has a strong team, and our Made-in-India vehicles show the quality and trust of the Isuzu brand.”
Adding to this, Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, shared, “There is a steady and increasing demand for India-made Isuzu vehicles across the world. Our export growth shows the world-class quality, performance, and reliability of our products. More and more global buyers now trust Indian manufacturing.”
Domestic Growth and Future Plans
Along with exports, Isuzu is also focusing on expanding its domestic presence in India. Recently, the company rolled out its 100,000th vehicle from the Sri City plant. This shows the company’s strong production capacity and growing demand within India.
Interestingly, Isuzu still produces the previous generation D-Max range in India, even though the new generation model is available in global markets. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the company also showcased the D-Max electric pickup concept, which is expected to launch in international markets later this year. However, there is no update yet on when the new V-Cross model will be launched in India.
Isuzu’s rising export numbers and growing footprint in the domestic market reflect its consistent focus on quality, innovation, and global standards.
