Expanding India’s Electric Commercial Vehicle Market
Montra Electric, a division of TI Clean Mobility Private Limited, has inaugurated a dedicated manufacturing facility for electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCVs) in Ponneri, Chennai. This facility, operated by its e-SCV division, Tivolt Electric Vehicles Private Limited, is set to enhance production capacity and meet the growing demand for electric commercial vehicles in India.
Key Highlights of the New Facility
- Located in Ponneri, Chennai, near the Kolkata highway, 35 km from the city.
- Spans approximately 5 lakh square feet.
- Annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles.
- Will primarily manufacture Montra Electric’s latest e-SCV, EVIATOR.
- Strengthens Montra Electric’s presence in the light commercial vehicle segment.
Features of the EVIATOR Electric Small Commercial Vehicle
The facility will focus on producing EVIATOR, Montra Electric’s latest electric small commercial vehicle, designed for efficient urban transportation. Key specifications include:
- Industry-certified range: 245 km.
- Real-world range: 170 km.
- Power Output: 80 kW.
- Torque: 300 Nm.
- Extended Warranty: Up to seven years or 2.5 lakh kilometers.
- Advanced Telematics: Ensures over 95% fleet uptime.
