New Electric Cargo Vehicle Promises 200+ Km Range and Fast Charging
Montra Electric, the clean mobility brand from the Murugappa Group, has launched its new electric three-wheeler called SUPER CARGO in Bengaluru on June 11, 2025. This new electric vehicle is designed especially for last-mile cargo delivery, a growing need in many Indian cities.
The company shared that the SUPER CARGO offers a certified range of over 200 km and a real-life range of 170 km, which makes it suitable for daily delivery operations. The vehicle is priced at INR 4.37 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, after subsidy).
Strong Battery and Performance for Everyday Use
The Montra Electric SUPER CARGO runs on a 13.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. This battery helps the vehicle give good mileage and supports long working hours. In addition, the vehicle provides 70 Nm of torque and 11 kW peak power, which helps in carrying loads smoothly, even on slopes. The vehicle has a gradeability of 23%, meaning it can climb steep roads with ease.
Moreover, the SUPER CARGO has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 1.2 tonnes, making it suitable for carrying a variety of goods. Montra Electric also offers a 5-year or 1.75 lakh km warranty on the battery, which gives peace of mind to buyers.
Multiple Configurations and Built for Safety
The company has launched the vehicle in three body types – 170 cubic feet, 140 cubic feet, and Tray Deck. These different sizes allow customers to choose what best suits their cargo needs. The vehicle has a Boron Steel Chassis and the longest wheelbase in its category, which adds to the strength and balance of the vehicle.
When it comes to safety, Montra Electric has added features like front disc brakes, hill hold function, reverse assist, and seat belt provisions. Along with this, the SUPER CARGO includes regenerative braking and multiple drive modes, which help in better energy management and smoother driving.
Fast Charging Option for B2B Fleets
Perhaps the most exciting feature of the SUPER CARGO is its fast charging option, thanks to a partnership with Exponent Energy. Two of the variants, Tray eQX and 170 cu.ft eQX d+, come with the ability to charge 100% in just 15 minutes.
This quick charging option is expected to help B2B operators improve their vehicle usage. As the vehicle spends less time charging, it can complete more deliveries in a single day.
