New Airport to Begin Operations in July 2025
The Noida International Airport, also known as Jewar Airport, is expected to open by July 2025. It is located in Jewar town, Gautam Buddha Nagar district, in Greater Noida. Once ready, it will serve not just Delhi-NCR, but also nearby cities like Agra, Mathura, and Aligarh.
Strategic Location for Better Travel
Located near the northeast bank of the Yamuna River, this airport will serve as a key hub for travel and logistics. It is expected to become one of India’s busiest international airports, supporting both passenger and cargo movement.
Connected to Major Highways
Jewar Airport will have strong road connectivity. It will link to major highways such as the:
- Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Expressway
- Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway (NH-34)
Additionally, a new road will connect it to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway via Faridabad. It will also link with the Yamuna Expressway at Dayanatpur Village and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (KGP) at Mohna Village in Ballabhgarh.
These routes will help trucks, pickups, and trailers carry cargo faster between the airport and nearby industrial zones in Greater Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.
Metro and Rail Links for Smooth Travel
The airport will also have a dedicated metro link from Greater Noida and a Delhi Metro route via Faridabad–Ballabhgarh–Jewar.
Moreover, a Rapid Rail-cum-Metro Rail project is planned. Its Detailed Project Report (DPR) is ready. This project may be completed within two years, depending on funding.
Upcoming Projects to Improve Access
To improve access further, two new expressways and a rail link will connect the airport to Chola Railway Station in Bulandshahr.
Also, an 8.2 km road project worth Rs 63 crore is planned to make travel to Delhi and Hindon Airports easier.
