Piaggio Launched 2 New 3-Wheelers in The Electric Segment

The brand also signed an MoU with key EV planners to deliver 24,000 electric vehicles in a phased manner across the country in 2023.

Piaggio Vehicles, one of the biggest manufacturers of the 3-Wheeler segment, added 2 new vehicles in its electric three-wheeler segment. The brand has a vast experience in this segment and a good understanding of Indian customers. The new Ape E-City FX Max comes under the passenger segment, and the Ape E-Xtra FX Max is built according to the cargo vehicle. The price of Ape E-City FX Max is Rs. Rs 3.25 lakh and the price of Ape E-Xtra FX Max is Rs 3.43 lakh.

In addition, with the launch, Piaggio Vehicles has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with some of the biggest EV players to deliver 24,000 vehicles across India in 2023. The delivery of these vehicles will happen in a phased manner which the company will decide. Piaggio India is also partnering with Three Wheel united with its aggressive retail finance scheme for passenger and cargo vehicles. 

On the launch occasion, the Chairman and MD of Piaggio, Mr Diego Graffi, said, "As pioneers in light cargo electric mobility in India, we are delighted to add Apé E-City FX Max and Apé E-Xtra FX Max to our portfolio. Our talented team of engineers and R&D has designed the new Apé FX Max range to ensure optimum value for customers through the better range, grade ability, and load-carrying capacity, as well as providing a total competitive cost of ownership."   

The EVP and Business Head of Electric Vehicles and Exports 2W & 3W, Piaggio Vehicles, Mr Sudhanshu Agrawal, said, "We are proud to include the Apé E-City FX Max and Apé E-Xtra FX Max in our electric 3-wheeler portfolio. Both variants have been manufactured with extensive customer feedback, and more focus has been given to the vehicle range and performance on different road conditions." 

According to the company, this complete range is assembled fully by an all-women team at the Baramati plant. Both the vehicles are built on the Italian design legacy, which comes with fascinating bezels and eye-catching graphics; it is available as a fixed battery solution. The brand also announced that the swappable battery solution for the new FX Max would be here soon. 

The vehicle has a different 5-kilometre reserve range to combat range anxiety. The vehicle is designed with an adjustable seat to improve the driver's visibility and control while driving. In addition, advanced telematics 2.0 provides the driver with better navigation and allows the driver to track and manage the overall fleet efficiently.
