PM Modi Flags Off 200 PMI Electric Buses in Delhi On Environment Day

PM Modi Launches Electric Buses to Promote Green Mobility

On World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 200 new electric buses in Delhi. These buses, provided by PMI Electro Mobility, are part of the Government’s Green Viksit Bharat mission. The event, held at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali Park, highlighted the push towards clean, eco-friendly public transportation in the capital city.

A Big Step Toward Clean Transport

The 200 electric buses will run on 30 special green routes across Delhi. This move will not only reduce air pollution but also offer smooth and silent rides for daily commuters. With this launch, the focus is clear: to make public transport cleaner and better for the environment.

In addition, the Prime Minister took part in a special campaign called Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. He planted a Banyan tree sapling to send a strong message about protecting nature. This step shows the importance of caring for our environment and encouraging others to do the same.

PMI’s Support for Green India Mission

PMI Electro Mobility supported the green cause in more ways. They started a campaign to involve the public by giving out 10,000 eco-friendly seed cards. These cards have Basil and Wildflower seeds that can grow easily within two weeks. People are encouraged to plant them at home, click a selfie, and share it by tagging PMI’s LinkedIn page. This small act could inspire many others to join the green mission.

Dr. Aanchal Jain, CEO of PMI Electro Mobility, shared her thoughts at the event. She said it was a proud moment for the company to have their buses flagged off by the Prime Minister. She also added that PMI’s buses are already helping cut down pollution in many cities, and this new launch proves their strong commitment to a clean India.

A Cleaner Tomorrow, One Bus at a Time

With these new 200 buses, PMI’s total fleet now has more than 2,500 electric buses running in 31 cities across India. These buses will help reduce more than 2.5 lakh metric tons of carbon emissions every year. Over the next few years, that number will grow to over 30 lakh metric tons.

This event not only marked the launch of new buses but also reminded everyone that small actions, like planting a tree or choosing public transport, can lead to a big change for the environment.
