Tata and Magenta Move Closer to 500 Electric Cargo Vehicle Target
Tata Motors has delivered 20 more Ace EV vehicles to Magenta Mobility. With this, the electric vehicle (EV) fleet of Magenta has now reached 350 units. This delivery is part of a bigger plan, as both companies aim to roll out 500 electric cargo vehicles under a 2023 partnership.
Magenta’s Green Journey is Expanding Fast
These electric cargo vehicles are already running in 10 cities across India. So far, they have completed about 5 million kilometers and helped save nearly 2,500 tonnes of carbon emissions. These EVs are being used by Magenta Mobility in areas like e-commerce, courier services, and daily goods distribution.
Maxson Lewis, the Founder and CEO of Magenta Mobility, shared that the Ace EV has been a reliable vehicle in their fleet. He added, “We now have 350 Ace EVs, and we are looking forward to adding 150 more. This will help us build a strong green delivery system across India.”
Tata Motors Supports Sustainable Transport
Pinaki Haldar, Vice President at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, also spoke about the development. He said, “Every Ace EV we deliver brings us one step closer to making clean and green transport available to all.” According to him, Tata Motors is fully committed to supporting India’s green mobility goals.
The Ace EV comes with a certified range of 161 kilometers on a full charge and can carry up to 1,000 kg of cargo. It also includes smart features like regenerative braking, battery cooling, and the Fleet Edge connected platform that helps track the vehicle’s performance.
Tata Motors Leads in the Commercial EV Space
Tata Motors has sold over 8,000 Ace EVs in India. These vehicles have together covered more than 60 million kilometers. To support this growing EV fleet, Tata has set up more than 200 service centers across the country.
EV Adoption in Logistics is Growing
In recent years, the commercial EV market in India has grown rapidly. One reason is that businesses want to cut fuel costs and reduce pollution. Also, Government of India schemes promoting EV use have helped boost sales, especially for last-mile delivery services.
Tata Motors continues to lead the commercial vehicle space and plays a major role in pushing India’s shift towards clean transport solutions.
