Tata Motors Recorded Sales of 34314 units with an 8% Decline

The Brand Registered Growth of 24% in the Passenger Carriers and Sold 4,810 units. 

Tata Motors, a prominent commercial vehicle company, has recently released its Commercial Vehicle sales data for June 2023. The brand sold a total of 34,314 units of CV in June 2023 against 37,265 units in June 2022. As a result, they considered a decline of 8% in sales. 

If we look at the Truck sales in India, we can see a decline of 4%. The brand sold 33,148 units of commercial vehicles in June 2023, whereas the numbers were 34,409 in June 2022. Further, let’s look at the category-wise sales of Tata Motors commercial vehicle sales report June 2023.

Mr. Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors Ltd. said, “Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles domestic sales at 82,225 in Q1 FY24 were 14.1% lower than Q1 FY23 sales while for the month of June '23, they were 20.2% higher than the vehicle sales registered in May '23.

We successfully upgraded the entire vehicle portfolio during BS6 Phase 2 transition, beyond the mandatory requirements, to offer more features, value-adds, and benefits to customers. M&HCV growth was driven by the strong infrastructure push by the Government, as well as increased activity in e-commerce, construction, and replacement demand in the auto logistics and petroleum sector. During the quarter, we started deliveries of Electric Buses, in accordance with the CESL tender mandate and expect to ramp up supplies in the coming months. Looking ahead, the promising monsoon and continuing infrastructure thrust by the Government auger well for the CV industry, even as it faces the headwinds of high interest rates, fuel prices and inflation.”

Let’s review the Tata Motors Truck Sales Data 2023 for June month.

HCV Category (Heavy Commercial Vehicles):-

Tata Motors experienced a surge of 19% in the sales of Heavy Commercial Vehicle sales in June this year. The brand sold 9,625 units of HCV last month against the 8,058 units in June 2022. 

ILMCV Category (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):- 

The brand registered a decline of 19% in ILMCV sales in India, as shown in Truck Sales Report May 2023. The company achieved sales of 4,723 units compared to the 5,851 units in June 2022. 

Passenger Carriers (PC) Category:

Passenger Carrier is one of the growing categories of the brand and delivers high monthly sales. Tata Motors sold 4,810 units of Passenger Carriers with a growth of 24%, as the sales figures in June 2022 were 3,868. 

SCV Cargo and Pickup:-

The SCV Cargo and Pickup sales data of the brand stayed negative in the June 2023 report. Tata Motors sold 13,990 units of vehicles against the 16,632 units in June 2022. As a result, the segment closed the month with a 16% drop in sales. 

The Export sales of the brand also stayed low in June 2023. The company sold 2,856 units of vehicles in export in June 2022, whereas they closed June 2023 with 1166 units making a loss of 59%.
