Tata Motors Maintains Strong Presence in Commercial Vehicle Market in April 2025

For April 2025, Tata Motors announced its commercial vehicle sales performance, recording a total of 27,221 units. This represents an 8% decline compared to the 29,538 units sold in April 2024. Despite the overall drop in sales, Tata Motors demonstrated resilience, particularly in the CV export segment, which saw a remarkable 43% growth.

Tata Motors remains a significant player in the Indian commercial vehicle market, maintaining its leadership despite challenging conditions. The company sold 25,764 units domestically in April 2025, which is a 10% decline compared to 28,516 units in April 2024. The SCV Cargo and pickup segment experienced a major decline, while other segments like ILMCV and Passenger Carriers showed positive growth.

HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles):

The HCVsegment faced a decline of 8%, with Tata Motors selling 7,270 units in April 2025 compared to 7,875 units in April 2024.

ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):

This segment showed an 8% growth, with 4,680 units sold in April 2025, up from 4,316 units in April 2024.

Passenger Carriers (PC):

The Passenger Carriers category registered a 4% growth, with sales increasing from 4,502 units in April 2024 to 4,683 units in April 2025.

SCV Cargo and Pickup:

This segment saw a significant decline of 23%, with sales dropping to 9,131 units in April 2025, down from 11,823 units in April 2024.

CV Export:

Tata Motors' export performance saw a robust increase of 43%, with 1,457 units exported in April 2025 compared to 1,022 units in April 2024.

While the overall sales showed a decline, the growth in the ILMCV and Passenger Carriers segments, as well as the strong performance in exports, highlights Tata Motors' continued strength in the commercial vehicle market.
