Tata Motors Reports a 1% Decline in Overall Commercial Vehicle Sales for December 2024
For December 2024, Tata Motors has announced its sales performance, recording a slight drop in overall commercial vehicle sales. The total sales declined by 1.00%, with 33,875 units sold in December 2024 compared to 34,180 units in December 2023.
Despite this minor decline, the passenger carrier segment achieved significant growth, marking a 35.00% increase and emerging as the standout performer for the month.
Tata Motors, a prominent name in the Indian commercial vehicle market, disclosed a slight 1.00% decrease in its domestic commercial vehicle sales. The brand sold 32,369 units domestically in December 2024, down from 32,668 units in December 2023.

HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicle):
The HCV segment witnessed a 15.00% decline in sales. Tata Motors sold 9,520 HCV units in December 2024 compared to 11,199 units in December 2023.
ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):
Sales in the ILMCV segment remained steady, with no growth or decline. Tata Motors sold 5,687 units in both December 2024 and December 2023.
Passenger Carriers (PC):
The passenger carrier segment continued its strong performance, registering a remarkable 35.00% growth. Sales rose from 3,060 units in December 2023 to 4,144 units in December 2024.
SCV Cargo and Pickup:
Tata Motors maintained its strong position in the SCV cargo and pickup segment, achieving a 2.00% increase in sales. The brand sold 13,018 units in December 2024, up from 12,734 units in December 2023.
CV Export:
The export performance for commercial vehicles remained stable, with 1,506 units sold in December 2024 compared to 1,512 units in December 2023, showing no significant change.
While the overall sales saw a minor dip, Tata Motors' passenger carriers and SCV cargo and pickup segments showcased growth, reflecting the brand's strength and market adaptability.
