Tata Witnessed a 1% Growth in Total CV Sales for Dec 2023, Selling 32,668 Domestic Trucks

The CV Exports & Passenger Carriers divisions of the brand concluded the month as the top gainers, achieving growth rates of 52% and 14%, respectively.

In December 2023, Tata Motors, a major Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, released its sales figures. Overall, the company saw a 1% decrease in domestic sales compared to December 2022, selling 32,668 commercial vehicles (CVs).

HCV Category (Heavy Commercial Vehicle):-

The HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) category of Tata Motors recorded a 10% hike in December 2023 sales. The brand sold 11,199 units last month, which closed at 10,178 units in Dec 2022.

ILMCV Category (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):-

The sales of the ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles) segment of Tata Motors also ended positively, with an 8% growth. The brand had 5,675 sales units in December 2023, compared to 5,225 in Dec 2022.

Passenger Carriers (PC) Category:-

The Passenger Carriers section of the brand has become the constant ranker. Tata Motors sold 3,060 passenger carrier units in December 2023, compared to 2,694 in Dec 2022. As a result, the sales numbers surged by 14%.

SCV Cargo and Pickup:-

Tata has a good market share in the small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup segment. Furthermore, the brand experienced a -14% drop in December 2023 sales. In Dec 2022, the brand sold 14,827 units of SCV and Pickup, which decreased to 12,734 units in December 2023. 

CV Exports:-

The performance of the brand increased in export sales. The brand sold 995 units of CV in Dec 2022, which increased to 1,512 units in December 2023. As a result, its sales increased by 52% this month.
