New AC System Offers Dual-mode Operation
Tata Motors has officially introduced air conditioning (AC) across its entire truck range, making a significant improvement in driver comfort. This update includes both existing and new models across various cabin types, such as SFC, LPT, Ultra, Signa, and Prima. It is also the first time the brand is offering factory-fitted AC units in cowl models, marking a key milestone for the Indian commercial vehicle market.
Focus on Driveability & Performance
The newly added air conditioning systems come with dual-mode operation, allowing drivers to switch between Eco and Heavy modes, based on weather conditions and performance needs. These systems are made to offer powerful cooling while maintaining fuel efficiency, which is a top concern for fleet operators. In addition to the AC systems, Tata Motors has increased engine power in its heavy-duty trucks, tippers, and prime movers to up to 320 horsepower. This means better overall performance, especially on long highway routes and tough terrains.
The upgraded truck models are also equipped with new features focused on safety and productivity. These include automatic engine idle shutdown to save fuel and voice-based alerts to notify drivers in real time. Tata Motors believes these improvements will make long-distance driving less tiring and more productive for truck drivers. This move also reflects the company's ongoing efforts to improve the working conditions of commercial drivers across the country.
Balancing Comfort with Cost for Fleet Owners
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head of Trucks– Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles stated, “The introduction of air-conditioned cabins and cowls marks a significant step towards building a comfortable working environment for drivers, enabling higher productivity. In addition to complying with the regulatory requirements, we have leveraged this opportunity to deliver long-term value with a host of enhancements. These upgrades, shaped by extensive customer feedback, and backed by smart engineering, are designed to minimise impact on total cost of ownership, ensuring greater profitability for fleet owners.”
Tata Motors' Commitment to Quality and Service
Tata Motors continues to be a leader in the Indian commercial vehicle industry and is one of the top three passenger vehicle manufacturers in the country.
