Eicher Commercial Vehicle Sales Jump 19.4% in April 2025
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Trucks and Eicher Trucks, recorded a robust 18.9% year-on-year growth in April 2025. Total sales reached 4,534 units, up from 3,812 units sold in April 2024.
Eicher Trucks Show Strong Growth in April 2025
Eicher-branded trucks posted an impressive 19.4% increase in overall commercial vehicle sales compared to April 2024. The company sold 4,405 units this April, up from 3,689 units a year ago, maintaining its upward momentum in the competitive commercial vehicle segment.
Domestic Sales Performance
In the domestic market, Eicher Trucks sold 4,069 units, marking a 15.4% rise compared to 3,527 units in April 2024. Segment-wise performance includes:
- SCV/LMD Trucks (<18.5T): 2,750 units sold vs 2,264 units last year — a growth of 21.5%
- Heavy Duty Trucks (>18.5T): 1,319 units sold vs 1,263 units last year — a growth of 4.4%
Export Sales See a Massive Upsurge
Eicher’s export sales more than doubled, growing by a whopping 107.41%, with 336 units shipped in April 2025 compared to 162 units in April 2024. Detailed performance includes:
- Low & Medium Duty Exports: 298 units vs 137 units — 117.52% growth
- Heavy Duty Exports: 38 units vs 25 units — 52.00% growth
These strong export figures highlight VECV’s increasing global footprint and demand for its versatile truck portfolio.
Volvo Trucks Registers Positive Growth
Volvo Trucks, under the VECV, also posted modest gains. The brand sold 129 units in April 2025, up from 123 units in April 2024 — a growth of 4.88%. While the numbers are smaller, they reflect consistent demand in the premium heavy-duty truck segment.
VECV's Positive Momentum Continues
With combined sales of 4,534 units in April 2025, VECV has shown solid performance across both domestic and export markets. Eicher’s strong growth in the light and medium-duty segment, along with impressive export gains, helped offset slowdowns in certain categories and contributed to a well-rounded growth trajectory.
