Eicher CV sales increased by 8.34% in May 2025
Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (VECV) recorded a 7.25% growth in total commercial vehicle sales in May 2025, reporting 5,264 units sold, compared to 4,908 units in May 2024. While Eicher Trucks drove the growth, Volvo Trucks witnessed a year-on-year decline.
VECV, a joint venture between Volvo and Eicher, showcased its consistent performance in the CV industry. The company saw increased domestic as well as export sales for Eicher Trucks, helping offset the drop in Volvo’s monthly sales figures.
Eicher Truck Performance
Eicher Trucks registered an 8.34% rise in total commercial vehicle sales in May 2025. Domestic sales stood at 4,738 units, up from 4,444 units in May 2024, reflecting a growth of 6.62%.
Segment-Wise Sales:
- LD Trucks and LMD (3.5-18.5T): This category witnessed a healthy growth of 15.20%, with 3,236 units sold in May 2025, compared to 2,809 units in May 2024.
- Heavy Duty (>18.5T): The segment faced a slight setback with an 8.13% decline, reporting 1,502 units in May 2025 versus 1,635 units last year.
Export Sales Performance
Eicher’s export performance remained strong in May 2025, registering a 35.46% increase in total export sales.
- Low & Medium Duty Export: Sales rose by 8.24%, with 289 units exported in May 2025 compared to 267 units in May 2024.
- Heavy Duty Export: A major jump of 520% was recorded in this segment, as sales surged to 93 units in May 2025 from just 15 units in May 2024.
Volvo Truck Performance
Volvo Trucks reported a decline in May 2025, with 144 units sold compared to 182 units in the same month last year — marking a 20.90% drop in sales.
Despite this, the overall performance of VECV remained positive, largely due to Eicher's strong domestic and export presence.
