A Big Step Towards Innovation and Inclusivity
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has opened a new manufacturing plant. This facility is located in Bhopal and is designed with the latest technology. More importantly, it has an all-women assembly line, making it a major step toward inclusivity in the Indian automotive industry.
First Deliveries of Eicher Pro X Trucks
The first batch of Eicher Pro X trucks was delivered to top logistics companies in India. These deliveries marked the beginning of a new chapter for VECV, as the trucks were manufactured in the state-of-the-art Bhopal plant. The event was attended by industry leaders, including Martin Lundstedt, President & CEO of Volvo Group, and Siddhartha Lal, Chairman of Eicher Motors.
A Modern Manufacturing Facility
This new facility is part of VECV’s Industry 4.0-compliant factory in Bhopal. It is equipped with advanced technology to ensure high-quality production. The all-women assembly line is a key highlight, showcasing VECV’s commitment to gender diversity in manufacturing.

Martin Lundstedt on India’s Rapid Growth
Martin Lundstedt expressed his excitement about India’s fast-growing logistics and transport industry. It is an honor to inaugurate this advanced facility and deliver the first Eicher Pro X trucks to customers leading India’s logistics transformation.”
