Partnership Will Help Eicher EV Owners Find Charging Stations Easily
VE Commercial Vehicles (a joint venture of Volvo and Eicher Group) has signed a new partnership with Statiq, a company that provides electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. This agreement will help Eicher electric truck and bus owners access more charging stations across India. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to make this happen.
As part of the deal, Statiq will add its network of over 8,000 charging points to VECV’s MyEicher app. This app helps users manage their vehicles and will now show where EV users can find nearby charging stations. It will also give important information like the cost of charging, directions, and if the station is available.
Easy Access to Chargers Through the MyEicher App
With this partnership, Statiq will become a preferred provider for installing both AC and DC chargers for Eicher’s electric commercial vehicles. This includes the newly launched Eicher Pro X series of small electric trucks.
In addition, the app will help Eicher EV owners by offering special deals and affordable charging rates. This is especially helpful for businesses and fleet owners who are shifting from diesel to electric vehicles.
Charging Support and Better Services for Eicher EV Owners
Moreover, both companies will work together to offer support services such as call centers, service requests, and maintenance. Statiq will also find good charging locations with enough space and proper infrastructure to fit large commercial vehicles.
Also, the two companies plan to start turnkey projects, which means they will take care of everything — from installing the station to running and maintaining it. They may also try new ideas like mobile charging vans, shared stations, and profit-sharing with partners who offer space for chargers.
A Big Step for India's Commercial EV Growth
This partnership is a step forward in supporting India’s shift to electric commercial vehicles. Abhishek Chaudhary, Senior Vice President at VECV, said this move will give users a smoother experience and boost the EV ecosystem in India. Akshit Bansal, CEO of Statiq, shared that their goal is to build a strong and easy-to-use charging network for commercial EVs.
VECV is a joint venture between Volvo Group of Sweden and Eicher Motors of India, making trucks and buses in over 40 countries. Statiq already runs chargers in 65 cities and plans to reach 20,000 charging points by 2025.
Overall, this partnership supports the government’s push for electric vehicles by improving charging access and making EV use easier for commercial vehicle users.
