Difference Between Trucks and Pickups - Features and Usage
Oct 11, 2022
Trucks are massive in size and are often tricky to manoeuvre. On the other hand, pickups are much more comfortable, manoeuvrable, and easy to drive, especially on narrower roads.
A pickup is a lightweight vehicle with an enclosed cabin in front and an open-top flatbed in the rear. They are an ideal choice for fleet operators for various logistical and cargo-carrying tasks.
A truck is a heavyweight vehicle with a body-on-frame structure and a cabin separate from the vehicle’s load body. It is ideal for transporting bulky cargo while carrying out other tasks.
Pickups have higher safety due to their compact size and lighter loads they carry. Whereas trucks are massive in size, carry bulky loads making their manoeuvrability harder and safety lower.
The average payload capacity of the pickup roughly ranges between 1000 kg to 2000 kg. Whereas a typical truck’s highest payload capacity could easily run up to 49-55 tonnes.
