Astro Motors Introduces Navya & Nova EVs in the L5 Segment
Astro Motors, a company that makes electric commercial vehicles, has launched two important new products called Navya and Nova. These vehicles belong to the L5 cargo and passenger segment. The company introduced them at the EV Expo held in Pune. These launches show Astro Motors’ focus on making smart and user-friendly electric vehicles that help drivers and businesses work more smoothly.
What is Astro Navya?
Astro Navya is India’s first geared electric three-wheeler designed especially for cargo transport. It is built to meet the needs of drivers and fleet owners who face challenges running their vehicles in busy cities and tough roads. The vehicle combines a strong motor, a good battery, and a gearbox. This combination improves key areas like payload capacity, battery life, and performance on rough roads, in stop-and-go traffic, and even on hills.
Astro Motors started a campaign called “Gear hai to sahi hai,” meaning “If you have gears, it’s right.” This campaign explains the benefits of a geared electric cargo vehicle simply and clearly. It is now live on the company’s social media channels.
Features and Benefits of Navya
- Powerful motor with gearbox for better control
- Longer battery life and efficient battery use
- Good performance on bad roads and hills
- Can carry heavy loads easily
What is Astro Nova?
Astro Nova is a new electric passenger auto rickshaw that focuses on comfort and space for both drivers and passengers. In today’s world, where shared autos and premium ride services exist, many auto rickshaws have not changed much in terms of comfort. Astro Nova aims to change that by providing a roomy and comfortable ride.
Astro Motors calls it “Auto ka SUV” because it gives a more spacious and comfortable experience like an SUV but in an auto rickshaw. The campaign for Nova highlights that while the world has changed, autos have stayed the same, and now Astro Nova is here to bring change.
Features and Benefits of Nova
- Extra space for driver and passengers
- Comfortable seats and ride experience
- Designed for modern shared and premium auto services
Future Plans of Astro Motors
Vitan Jagada, Founder and CEO of Astro Motors, announced that the company will soon begin deliveries of the Navya cargovehicle. The Nova passenger auto rickshaw is expected to launch in July 2025, following the completion of safety approvals. In October 2025, Astro Motors plans to launch L3 category cargo and passenger electric vehicles.
By early 2026, the company plans to introduce a four-wheeler modular skateboard chassis. This chassis will serve as a base for many different types of vehicles. Astro Motors owns the technology fully and may license it to other vehicle makers. This can help grow the electric vehicle ecosystem.
Business Growth and Global Plans
Astro Motors targets both business customers and regular buyers. The company plans to grow quickly in India through fleet partnerships and a wide dealer network. In addition, they aim to expand to other markets such as Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. After that, they plan to enter more developed countries.
The company uses smart technology and modern manufacturing methods based on Industry 4.0 principles. Their goal is to build a global electric vehicle brand known for innovation, customer focus, and lean operations.
Dealer Network and Financial Partnerships
Astro Motors is already working on building a strong dealer network. They have signed agreements with dealers in Pune, Bhavnagar, and Jammu. In addition, five more dealers are being added in important areas like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, and Maharashtra.
Currently, Astro Motors commercial vehicles are available at these dealerships:
- Ampere EV in Jammu
- Hunddekkari Motors in Pune
- JJ Patel in Bhavnagar
The company also has financial partners such as MUFIN Greenfinance, RiseWise Capital, and Perpetuity Capital. These partnerships help customers get easy loans and better financial support.
Expanding Reach Across India
Astro Motors plans to add more dealers and financial partners to reach more customers across India. They also focus on building a strong after-sales service system. This will make it easier and more enjoyable for customers to own and operate Astro vehicles.
