ETO Motors Set to Launch 500 Electric Three-Wheelers Across UP

500 electric three-wheelers will be deployed throughout Uttar Pradesh, with a focus on Ayodhya, according to a contract that ETO Motors has secured. This strategic move marks the integration of electric mobility into cultural and religious events coinciding with the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

ETO Motors has secured an agreement with the Uttar Pradesh government to introduce and manage 500 electric three-wheelers in strategic towns, with Ayodhya being given priority. This is a significant step. ETO Motors is responsible for managing the deployment in a number of cities, including Mathura, Gorakhpur, Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow, and Prayagraj, according to the Letter of Award (LoA).

With this strategic launch in Ayodhya aligning with the opening of the Ram Temple, the company is showcasing its dedication to incorporating electric mobility into religious and cultural activities. Authorization has been granted to ETO Motors to commence deployment, with a particular emphasis on easing pilgrims' transit to the holy site in Ayodhya.

"Our e-three-wheelers are not just vehicles but carriers of change, driving economic growth and social empowerment while upholding our commitment to environmental stewardship," ETO Motors Director Karthik S. Ponnapula said.

In a parallel move, ETO Motors announced a partnership with Uber to create a sustainable electric mobility solution for urban transportation. The collaboration aims to leverage ETO Motors' electric vehicle technology expertise with Uber's extensive network and innovative ride-sharing platform to revolutionize city transportation.

"We are thrilled to partner with ETO Motors to bring EV auto rickshaws to the temple city of Ayodhya. As the city gears up to become one of the popular tourist destinations, we are committed to making the commute of tourists and locals hassle-free," Uber India and South Asia Director of Supply Operations Shiva Shailendran said.
