Ashok Leyland Reports Decline in Total CV Sales; Sold 19,518 Units in March 2024

Ashok Leyland Sold 18,573 CV Sales Units in the Domestic Market

Ashok Leyland, the leading Indian manufacturer of commercial vehicles, recently released its March sales data. The figures indicate a 10.26% decline in total sales across domestic and export markets.

In March 2023, the company sold 21,348 commercial vehicles, marking a 13% decrease from the 18,573 units sold domestically. Notably, export sales surged by 135.66% from March 2023 to March 2024, with 945 units sold compared to 401 units the previous year.

Ashok Leyland Commercial Vehicle Sales Report, March 2024, saw a sales drop of 18%. It sold 11,773 units, compared to 14,399 units in March 2023. As a result, this CV manufacturer witnessed a decrease in sales in the M&HCV truck segment.  

Furthermore, its LCV category again experienced a 2% dip in sales. The brand sold 6,800 LCV, compared to 6,949 in March 2023. The Total Ashok Leyland CV Sales Report segment sold 18,573 units in March 2024, compared to 21,348 units in March 2023.

Based on the March 2024 Export CV Sales Statistics for Ashok Leyland, there was a remarkable 135.66% surge in sales. 945 units were sold in Match 2024, compared to 401 in March 2023. 

Further, the LCV category reported sales of 504 units in March 2024, compared to 204 units in March 2023. The brand recorded impressive sales growth of 147.06% in this category. 

Furthermore, it experienced a sales surge with a remarkable 123.86%  growth in the M&HCV category. Under the M&HCV vehicles, the company sold 441 units in March 2024, compared to 197 units in March 2023.  

Commercial Vehicle Gross (Domestic + Export) Sales Data, March 2024

In March 2024, Ashok Leyland witnessed a 10.26% decrease in Gross CV Sales, including a 16% loss in M&HCV categories and a 2% gain in LCV. 

In Gross Commercial Vehicle Sales, 19,518 units were recorded in March 2024, compared to 21,749 in March 2023. Additionally, under the M&HCV Truck category, 12,214 CVs were sold in March 2024, compared to 14,596 CVs in March 2023. Within the LCV category, 7,304 CVs were sold in March 2024, compared to 7,153 CVs in March 2023.
