Ashok Leyland's Total CV Sales Decline in October 2024, Sold 13,357 Units

Ashok Leyland has released its sales figures for October 2024, revealing a decline in total commercial vehicle (CV) sales. The brand sold 13,357 units in both domestic and export markets, marking a 12% year-on-year (YoY) drop.

India's leading commercial vehicle producer, Ashok Leyland, reported a significant decline in October 2024 sales figures. The data shows a 12% decrease in total sales, both in domestic and export markets, compared to the same month in 2023.

In October 2024, the company's commercial vehicle sales dropped by 12%, with 12,838 units sold domestically compared to 14,620 units in October 2023. Notably, export sales saw a slight YoY growth of 1%, with 519 units sold compared to 513 units in the prior year.

The M&HCV truck industry in October 2024 recorded a 13% decrease, reporting sales of 7,208 units, compared to 8,272 units in October 2023. This decline reflects the overall downward trend in the commercial vehicle sector.

Similarly, the LCV category also experienced an 11% dip in sales. Ashok Leyland sold 5,630 LCVs in October 2024, compared to 6,348 units in October 2023. In total, Ashok Leyland’s domestic CV sales in October 2024 stood at 12,838 units, down from 14,620 units in October 2023.

According to the export sales statistics for October 2024, Ashok Leyland saw a modest 1% increase in total exports. The company sold 519 units in October 2024, compared to 513 units in October 2023.

The LCV category reported a decrease of 18%, with 272 units sold in October 2024 compared to 331 units in October 2023. Meanwhile, the Medium and heavy duty commercial vehicle category experienced strong growth of 36%, selling 247 units in October 2024, up from 182 units in the same period last year.

In October 2024, Ashok Leyland witnessed a 12% decline in Gross CV Sales. Both the M&HCV and LCV categories showed a 12% YoY drop.

In total, 13,357 units were sold in October 2024, compared to 15,133 units in October 2023. Specifically, under the M&HCV category, 7,455 units were sold in October 2024, compared to 8,454 units in October 2023. The LCV category registered sales of 5,902 units in October 2024, down from 6,679 units in October 2023.
