FADA Reports 4.34% Increase in Combined CV Sales for April 2024

April 2024 saw a notable 9.27% growth in sales for the three-wheeler segment, with a total of 80,105 units sold.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released sales data for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three wheelers for the current period. In April 2024, there were 261,519 CV sales, which represented a 4.34% rise compared to the 250,636 units sold in April 2023.

In April 2024, the sales of commercial vehicles (CV) increased by 2.31%, with 90,707 units sold compared to 88,663 units in the previous year. Sales in the three-wheeler market also increased significantly, with 80,105 units sold compared to 73,310 in April 2023. This shows a remarkable increase of 9.27%.

E-RICKSHAW (P)

Under the E Rickshaw segment, retail sales growth of 0.69% was observed in April 2024. The brand sold 31,808 units in April 2024, compared to 31,591 in April 2023.

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)

This segment saw a 56.35% increase in retail sales in April 2024. The E-Rickshaw category sold 4,223 units in April 2024, compared to 2,701in April 2023.

THREE WHEELER (GOODS)

The 3-wheeler segment's April 2024 sales figure significantly increased by 11.35%. It sold 9,072 units in April 2024, compared to 8,147 in April 2023.

THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)

This passenger vehicle segment registered a major retail sales growth of 13.37% in April 2024. The segment sold 34,938 units in April 2024, compared to 30,817 in April 2023.

THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)

The personal three-wheeler saw an 18.52% rise in retail sales in April 2024. The segment sold 54 units in April 2023, which increased to 64 in April 2024.

FADA Retail Sales Report by Segment - Commercial Vehicles (CV)

The commercial vehicle segment has also been segregated according to LCV, MCV, HCV, and others. The following are the complete CV sales figures.

LCV

The LCV segment experienced a 4.02% increase in retail sales in April 2024. The segment closed with 47,009 units in April 2024, compared to 45,191 units in April 2023.

MCV

The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 6,704 units in April 2024, compared to 6,651 units in April 2023. As a result, the MCV segment experienced a growth of 0.80%.

HCV

In April 2024, retail sales in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment decreased slightly by 3.31%. During this period, 32,191 units were sold, compared to 33,293 in April 2023.

Others

All other remaining segments of the CV category ended in April 2024, with sales of 4,803 units. In April 2023, it sold 3,528 units, which resulted in sales growth of 36.14%.
