The FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Association) has released the latest sales figures for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three-wheelers. In October 2024, combined CV sales reached 220,257 units, a 9.15% increase from 201,797 units sold in October 2023.
Commercial vehicle sales saw a 6.37% rise, with 97,411 units sold in October 2024 compared to 91,576 units in the previous year. The three-wheeler segment experienced the highest growth, with a remarkable 11.45% increase in sales, reaching 1,22,846 units compared to 1,10,221 units in October 2023.
Under the E-Rickshaw segment, retail sales saw a growth of 12.34% in October 2024. The segment sold 49,123 units, compared to 43,707 in October 2023.
This category saw a substantial rise of 22.45% in retail sales. The E-Rickshaw with cart sold 6,380 units in October 2024, compared to 5,213 in October 2023.
The Three wheeler goods segment recorded a 9.21% increase in sales, selling 15,432 units in October 2024, compared to 14,139 units in October 2023.
This passenger vehicle segment registered a significant retail sales growth of 8.95%. It sold 55,732 units in October 2024, compared to 51,156 units in October 2023.
The personal three-wheeler segment saw a remarkable 10.17% rise in sales, with 1,059 units sold in October 2024, up from 961 units in October 2023.
The commercial vehicle segment has also been subdivided according to LCV, MCV, HCV, and others. Here are the complete CV sales figures:
The Light Commercial Vehicle segment saw a growth of 9.11% in retail sales. It closed with 56,015 units in October 2024, compared to 51,340 units in October 2023.
The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 6,557 units in October 2024, compared to 6,164 units in October 2023, experiencing a growth rate of 6.38%.
In October 2024, retail sales in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment saw a slight decline of 1.15%. The segment sold 29,525 units, compared to 29,869 units in October 2023.
All other remaining segments of the CV category, including construction equipment and others, saw an increase of 26.43% in sales, reaching 5,314 units in October 2024, compared to 4,203 units in October 2023.
