FASTag Toll System will Start on Yamuna Expressway from June 15

Travelling on Yamuna Expressway Between Noida-Agra will be Easy

Your journey will now become easier on the Yamuna Expressway between Noida-Agra. You will get rid of the queue at toll plazas and will be able to drive without any interruption as the FASTag toll collection system on Yamuna Expressway is being started from June 15. Jaypee Infratech Limited (JIL) operates the 165 km long expressway. Jaypee Infratech will do the work of toll collection on this highway. Let us tell you that earlier, the deadline for starting toll collection on Yamuna Expressway through FASTag was April 1. But it could not be created due to non-completion of all the preparations. Late but now FASTag will be implemented on this route from June 15.

FASTag Facility will be Available at Toll Gates on Both Sides

Presently there are three toll plazas on Yamuna Expressway at Jewar, Mathura and Agra. Initially, the facility of toll payment through FASTag will be available at toll gates on both sides of each toll plaza located in two lanes on Yamuna Expressway. The number of lanes that cater to the FASTag electronic toll collection system will gradually increase in the coming days. With the implementation of the FASTag system, commuters driving between Noida and Lucknow will very soon get rid of the queue at toll plazas. They will be able to operate without any interruption. Let us tell you that an agreement has been reached this week between the representatives of Yamuna Development Authority, IDBI and Jaypee Infratech, which will enable the FASTag facility to be started.

FASTag System Delayed due to Various Reasons

India's National Highways Authority had implemented the FASTag system on every national highway from February 15 this year. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority had first announced that the FASTag system would start from February 1. However, implementation got delayed due to various reasons.

Toll Tax Will Not Have To Be Paid if a Queue is Found for More Than 100 Meters

The NHAI has recently issued new guidelines regarding toll plazas with the FASTag facility. In these new guidelines, it has been said that toll taxes will be collected from vehicles at toll plazas within 10 seconds. The new rules also state that the queue of vehicles at the toll booth should not be more than 100 meters long. If the line is more than 100 meters long, vehicles will pass through the toll gate without paying toll charges. A yellow strip will be marked on the road 100 meters from the toll plaza to implement this new initiative.
