Mahesh Babu Join Switch Mobility India As COO & CEO

Switch Mobility, the electric mobility unit of Ashok Leyland, has declared that Mahesh Babu will operate two leadership positions with immediate effect: COO (Chief Operating Officer) and CEO of Switch Mobility, India.

Mahesh Babu has been working in mobility for over 25 years and joined Switch from Mahindra Electric, where he was MD and CEO. Under his direction, Mahindra electric launched 6-new electric vehicles consisting of 3-wheeler and 4-wheeler commercial vehicles and NEMO's innovative software platform.

Mahesh babu's most prestigious project was India's first monocoque SUV, the XUV500. This man has been reshaping the future mobility policy in India by providing electric TCO solutions through unprecedented initiatives in passenger vehicles, commercial fleet and last-mile mobility. He actively contributed to various EV committees of both Central and State Governments, CII and FICCI.

Until recently, he worked as the President of Electric Mobility Group at SIAM, Apex Automotive Association of India, and before joining Mahindra, he previously worked at Ashok Leyland.

This major appointment is the latest step in a series of recent high profile appointments of leadership positions at Switch Mobility. These high profile appointments aim to secure a leading global position in net zero carbon buses and light commercial vehicles.

Executive Vice-Chairman and CEO of Switch Mobility, Andy Palmer, said, "I am pleased to announce this appointment as Mahesh Babu has over 25 years of experience in Switch and his expertise as CEO and track record as EV pioneer is renowned.
