A decline in Domestic Commercial Vehicle Sales by 23% for Tata Motors

Tata Motors revealed its sales figures for September 2024, showing a significant decline in commercial vehicle sales. The total sales decreased by 23.00%, with 30,032 units sold in September 2024 compared to 39,064 units in September 2023.

However, the brand's passenger carriers showed a smaller decline in the past month, with a 7.00% decrease, making them the least affected category.

Tata Motors, a leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, disclosed that its domestic commercial vehicle sales fell by 23.00%. In September 2023, 37,214 commercial vehicles were sold, but the number dropped to 28,631 units in September 2024.

Overall, commercial vehicle sales decreased by 23.00%, from 39,064 units in September 2023 to 30,032 units in September 2024.

• HCV Category (Heavy Commercial Vehicle):

Tata Motors' HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicles) category saw a 28% loss in September 2024 sales. The brand sold 9,295 units last month, compared to 12,867 units in September 2023.

• ILMCV Category (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles):

The sales of Tata Motors' ILMCV (Intermediate, Light & Medium Commercial Vehicles) segment recorded a 16.00% decrease in September 2024. The brand had 5,387 sales units in September 2024, compared to 6,377 in September 2023.

• Passenger Carriers (PC) Category:

The brand's Passenger Carrier section experienced a 7.00% decline. Tata Motors sold 3,101 passenger carrier units in September 2024, compared to 3,344 in September 2023.

• SCV Cargo and Pickup:

Tata Motors has a strong market presence in the small commercial vehicle cargo and pickup segment. However, the brand experienced a 26.00% sales decline in September 2024. In September 2023, the brand sold 14,626 units of SCV and Pickup, which decreased to 10,848 units in September 2024.

• CV Exports:

The brand's export sales also fell by 24.00% in September 2024. Tata Motors sold 1,401 units of CV in September 2024, compared to 1,850 units in September 2023.
