Bajaj Auto Ltd was the Only Three-Wheeler Maker to Cross the 10,000 Units of 3 Wheelers.
FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) released 3 wheeler retail sales data for October 2021. The overall 3 wheeler retail sales for October 2021 increased by 58.44% on a year-on-year basis. Total three-wheeler sales stood at 39,077 units in October 2021, up from 22,467 units sold in October 2020. Highlighting - Bajaj, Piaggio, Atul, Mahindra, TVS, and others including EV sales stood at 30,741 units in October 2021, up from 19,402 units sold in October 2020.
The FADAs reported an increase in retail sales of 3 wheelers in October 2021 compared to October 2020. Again, Bajaj Auto Ltd topped the list with sales of 14,018 and commanded a market share of 35.87%. It showed an increment of 67% against 8,396 units in 3 wheelers retail sales in October 2020, and market share stood at 37.37%. On the other hand, Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd sold 4,192 three-wheelers in October 2021 with a market share of 10.73%. It shows a decline of 4.88% against 4,407 units in October 2020, with a market share of 19.62%.
Atul Auto Ltd sold 1,401 units of 3 wheelers in October 2021 with a market share of 3.59%, showing an increment of 58.66% from 883 units retailed in October 2020 with a market share of 3.93%. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd sold 1,282 three-wheelers in October 2021 with a market share of 3.28%. It shows an increment of 2.34% against 526 units in October 2020, with a market share of 2.34%. TVS Motor Company Limited saw a decline by 4.53% in its three-wheeler retail sales from 729 units in October 2020 with a market share of 3.24% to 696 units in October 2021 with a market share of 1.78%. The 9,152 units of others with Electric vehicles sold in October 2021 with a market share of 23.42%, shows growth of 105.2% against 4,461 units in October 2020 with a market share of 19.86%.
