Ashok Leyland recorded sales of 14,245 commercial vehicles in the domestic market.
Ashok Leyland, the top manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India, unveiled its September sales figures. The data indicates a decrease of 11.46% in overall sales in both domestic and export markets.
In September 2024, the company's domestic commercial vehicle sales declined by 12.83%, with 14,245 units sold as opposed to 16,342 units sold in September 2023. The number of export units sold was 374 units in September 2023, which increased to 555 units in September 2024, indicating a growth of 48.40%.

The M&HCV truck industry in September 2024 showed a decrease of 17%. It reported sales of 8,414 units, in contrast to 10,109 units in September 2023. Therefore, this CV producer experienced a fall in sales.
Furthermore, its LCV category also saw a 6% decline, with 5,831 units sold in September 2024 compared to 6,233 units in September 2023. The total Ashok Leyland domestic CV sales report segment sold 14,245 units in September 2024, compared to 16,342 units in September 2023.

According to the September 2024 Export CV Sales Statistics for Ashok Leyland, sales increased significantly by 48.40%. In September 2024, 555 units were sold, compared to 374 units sold in September 2023.
Further, the LCV category reported sales of 325 units in September 2024, compared to 217 units in September 2023, marking a growth of 49.77%.
However, the M&HCV category saw a sales increase of 46.50%. Under the M&HCV vehicles, the company sold 230 units in September 2024, compared to 157 units in September 2023.
Commercial Vehicle Gross (Domestic + Export) Sales Data, September 2024
In September 2024, Ashok Leyland witnessed an 11.46% decrease in gross CV sales, including a 16% decline in M&HCV categories and a 5% decline in LCV.
For Gross Commercial Vehicle Sales, 14,800 units were recorded in September 2024, compared to 16,716 units in September 2023. Additionally, under the M&HCV truck category, 8,644 CVs were sold in September 2024, compared to 10,266 CVs in September 2023. Within the LCV category, 6,156 CVs were sold in September 2024, compared to 6,450 CVs in September 2023.
