Combined Commercial Vehicle Sales Increased By 21.23% In April 2023

The E-Rickshaw Passenger segment observed the highest gain, a growth of 70.89% in the domestic market. At the same time, the MCV segment recorded an increase of 15.71%. 

The combined commercial sales report from FADA (FEDERATION OF AUTOMOBILE DEALERS ASSOCIATIONS) has been released, and we can see how the different sectors of the CV industry have performed. The total number of units sold in April 2023 was 1,56,515 compared to the 1,29,101 units in April 2022. 

Segregating the sale, we found the three-wheeler segment sold 70,928 units in April 2023, which was 45,114 units in April 2022. As a result, the sales of the segment increased by 57.22%. 

On the other hand, the CV segment sold 85,587 commercial vehicles in April 2023, which was closed with 83,987 units in April 2022. Resulting in a growth of 1.91% in April Y-O-Y sales. 

Segment-Wise Sales Report March 2023 of 3-Wheelers

E-RICKSHAW (P) - In this segment, a sales growth of 70.89% in retail was seen in April Y-O-Y. According to the Sales Report for April 2023, 31,653 units of this category were sold compared to 18,522 units in April 2022. 

E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G) - The segment highlighted a growth of 69.58% in April Y-O-Y. In this period, its sales units were 2,732 in April 2023 compared to 1,611 in April 2022. 

THREE WHEELER (GOODS) - In this segment, a positive growth of 9.73% was recorded in sales. The segment sold 7,872 units in April 2023 compared to 7,174 in April 2022. 

THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER) - In this segment, an incredible sales growth of 61.20% was observed in April Y-O-Y sales. In this period, its sold units were 28,618 in April 2023 compared to 17,753 in April 2022. 

THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL) - In this segment, a slight decline of -1.85% was observed in April 2023. In this period, its sold units were 53 in April 2023 compared to 54 in April 2022. 

Segment-Wise Sales Report April 2023 of Commercial Vehicles

All of the segments of the Commercial Vehicles industry experienced growth in sales except the LCV segment. The CV segment is divided into LCV, MCV, HCV, and others. Let’s look into the retail FADA sales of all the segments in the following. 

LCV:-  The LCV or Light Commercial Vehicles observed a decline of -8.66% in this sales as the segment sold 47,625 units in April 2022, which closed at 43,501 units in April 2023.

MCV:- The MCV segment sold 6,451 in April 2023, which was 5,575 units in April 2022. As a result, the segment observed a 15.71% rise in April Y-O-Y sales. 

HCV:- The Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment sold 32,165 units of commercial vehicles in April 2023, whereas in April 2022, the sales were 28,558. The segment registered a growth of 12.63%.

All the other segments of commercial vehicles sold 3,470 units in April 2023, whereas the sales were 2,229 units in April 2022. The segment completes growth of 56.00%.
