ETO Motors Partners with DMRC for the E-Autos at Metro Stations

ETO Motors partners DMRC to implement Women Driven E-Auto at Metro Station 

The partnership of DMRC and ETO Motors will deploy all Women-drivers and has flagged 36 Electric Autos. All of these vehicles will be driven by trained women, and the company plans to deploy 100 more. 

The DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) and ETO, a Hyderabad-based electric mobility startup, have come into a deal to deploy electric autos at the metro stations in Delhi. The first phase of the deal starts from the Azadpur metro station. Also, In this phase, 36 autos were flagged. 
The thing which has struck everyone's mind is that women drivers drive all-electric vehicles. Currently, the plan has started with 36 autos, and the estimated goal is to have 100 vehicles in action in the next two months. In addition, to train women drivers, ETO has partnered with some organisations. The organisations are the Transport Department of Delhi, GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and MOWO social initiatives, among others. Also, this initiative will make the female community self-dependent and strong and bring more opportunities for them. 

So let's take a look at Vehicle Specifications. 

The Electric Autos which will come into play for this plan is the ETO Trilux 1.0. This auto is an L5 category passenger e-auto with a high power 7.37 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery offers an increased driving range of 100 kilometres on a single charge. And it takes 3-4 hours to get full charge, claims the manufacturer. In addition, it also delivers a high speed of 45 KMPH. 

Official Statements:

The Managing Director of ETO Motors, Mr Pavan Chavali, commented on the partnership and said, "As part of our commitment towards greater gender diversity, ETO Motors has successfully trained 100 young unemployed women to drive electric autos in the 100% EV city of Kevadia (Ekta Nagar) in Gujarat. 
And, now we are going to deploy 300 electric autos at Metro Stations in Delhi in collaboration with DMRC in a phased manner, all driven by women driver-partners to provide much required first and last mile connectivity services to metro commuters in the capital." 
The company would provide the autos to the women drivers on a daily rental of Rs. 400. They can take the vehicles from the hub developed at the metro stations. He also added on explaining the business model. 
The agreement allows the women drivers to ply the autos in a radius of 7 kilometres. 

The second statement came from the DMRC.

Mr Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC, stated, "The introduction of these e-autos will improve the last mile connectivity for passengers of nearby localities. In recent years, DMRC has introduced many eco-friendly initiatives to ensure a robust last-mile connectivity system, which enables the commuters to prefer non-polluting public transport modes over personal vehicles."
