The Three-Wheeler segment experienced a growth of 1.63%, selling a total of 105,478 units.
The FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Association) has reported the latest sales figures for commercial vehicles (CVs) and three-wheelers. In August 2024, combined CV sales reached 178,731 units, marking a 1.66% decrease from the 181,749 units sold in August 2023.
Commercial vehicle sales declined by 6.05% to 73,253 units in August 2024, compared to 77,967 units during the same period last year. The three-wheeler market saw a slight boost, with sales growing by 1.63% to 105,478 units in August 2024, up from 103,782 units in August 2023.

FADA Retail Sales Report by Segment - Three-Wheeler
E-RICKSHAW (P)
Under the E Rickshaw (Passenger) segment, retail sales decreased in August 2024. The brand sold 44,346 units in August 2024, compared to 46,174 in August 2023.
E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)
This segment saw an increase in retail sales in August 2024. The E-Rickshaw category sold 4,392 units in August 2024, compared to 3,095 in August 2023.
THREE-WHEELER (GOODS)
The 3-wheeler (Goods) segment's August 2024 sales figure slightly decreased. It sold 8,646 units in August 2024, compared to 9,672 in August 2023.
THREE-WHEELER (PASSENGER)
This passenger vehicle segment registered a small retail sales growth in August 2024. The segment sold 48,005 units in August 2024, compared to 44,741 in August 2023.
THREE-WHEELER (PERSONAL)
The personal three-wheeler segment saw a marginal down in retail sales in August 2024. The segment sold 100 units in August 2023, which increased to 89 in August 2024.
FADA Retail Sales Report by Segment - Commercial Vehicles (CV)
The commercial vehicle segment has also been segregated according to LCV, MCV, HCV, and others. The following are the complete CV sales figures:
LCV
The Light Commercial Vehicle segment saw a decline in retail sales in August 2024. The segment closed with 42,496 units in August 2024, compared to 45,257 units in August 2023, marking a decrease of 6.10%.
MCV
The MCV category of commercial vehicles sold 6,137 units in August 2024, compared to 6,173 units in August 2023. As a result, the MCV segment experienced a slight decline rate of 0.58%.
HCV
In August 2024, retail sales in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment decreased by 8.91%. During this period, 21,221 units were sold, compared to 23,114 in August 2023.
Others
All other remaining segments of the CV category ended in August 2024 with sales of 3,399 units. In August 2023, it sold 3,423 units, which resulted in a slight decrease of 0.70%.
