The three-wheeler segment ended the month with a hike of 48.58% in September 2023. The segment sold 1,02,426 vehicles in the given period.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) disclosed commercial vehicles and three-wheeler sales during September 2023. The sales also include the numbers of 3-wheeler and CV categories.
The sales report stated that the Combined CV sales September 2023 were 1,83,230 units. In comparison, the combined CV sales of September 2022 were 1,45,991 units, resulting in a 25.51% hike. The CV segment completed the month with 4.87% growth, selling 80,804 units in September 2023 against 77,054 units in Sep 2022.
On the other hand, the three-wheeler segment sold 1,02,426 in September 2023, which was 68,937 units last September. This resulted in a 48.58% increase.

FADA Sales Report by Segment - Three-Wheeler
E-RICKSHAW (P)
The passenger segment E-Rickshaw sold 46,707 units in September 2023 against the 33,699 units in September 2022. As a result, the segment saw a growth of 38.60%.
E-RICKSHAW WITH CART (G)
This E-Rickshaw with Cart category sold 3,038 units in September 2023, overtaking the 1,784 units in September 2022. As a result, it generated a growth of 70.29% in Y-O-Y sales.
THREE WHEELER (GOODS)
The goods three-wheeler segment experienced a hike of 38.46%. The segment sold 9,014 units in September 2023 against the 6,510 units of last year in September.
THREE WHEELER (PASSENGER)
The Three-wheeler passenger segment sold 43,581 units in September 2023, against the 26,892 units in September 2022. It recorded a growth of 62.06%.
THREE WHEELER (PERSONAL)
The sales of personal three-wheeler vehicles stayed low as always. The segment sold 86 units, which was 52 in September 2022.

LCV
The LCV or Light Commercial Vehicle segment sales recorded a slight drop of 1.76% in September 2023. The segment sold 46,213 vehicle units in September 2023 and 47,043 in September last year.
MCV
The Medium Commercial Vehicle segment sales showed significant growth in September this year. Whereas in September 2022, the sales units were 5,185, which increased to 5,623 in September 2023. It resulted in an 8.45% sales hike in September Y-O-Y sales.
HCV
The Heavy Commercial Vehicle segment recorded the highest sales in the Commercial Vehicle category. The category sold 25,237 units of HCV, which was 11.11% higher than the 22,713 units in September 2022.
Others
All the other categories of Commercial Vehicles recorded sales of 3,731 units in September 2023. Whereas the sold units in September 2022 were 2,113, resulting in a growth of 76.57%.
