Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Started Construction of the New EV Plant in Telangana
Mahindra announced an investment of Rs. 1000 crore in Telangana, and this plant is the start of that project. Also, this facility will house the state-of-the-art battery assembly line, producing the power packs and manufacturing the electronic and drivetrain components for the EVs.
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (LMM) is part of the Mahindra & Mahindra group and has started the work of its new manufacturing unit at Zaheerabad, Telangana. This plant is pursuant to the announcement of an Rs. 1000 crore investment in Telangana, which they made in February 2023. The brand plans to manufacture a state-of-the-art battery assembly line, Producing power packs and manufacturing the electronic and powertrain components for electric 3 and 4 - wheelers. This new facility will also create jobs for 800 to 1,000 employees in this region.
The chief guest of this event was Shri. K.T. Rao, the honourable minister of the Telangana government for municipal administration and urban development, industries and commerce, and information technology, electronics, and communications. Other guests who were present in the ceremony were Shri. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS – Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce and IT, Government of Telangana, and Shri. K Manik Rao, MLA, Zaheerabad Constituency.
On the occasion, The chief guest Shri. K.T. Rao, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Industries, and Commerce, said, “EVs are a focus area for the Government of Telangana and we are committed to developing the right infrastructure and ecosystem for promotion and adoption of EVs. The new facility would help in the proliferation of EVs not just in Telangana but across India.”
