Mahindra Electric Mobility firm has reported sales of 50,000 units within 4 years of launching.
Mahindra Electric Mobility, the flagship firm of Mahindra & Mahindra, has sold 50,000 electric three-wheelers. The original company which settled the base, Reva Electric Car Company (RECC), was founded by Chetan Mini in 1994 as a joint venture with a USA-based firm. On 26 May 2010, the biggest SUV and Tractor manufacturer brand in India, Mahindra & Mahindra, bought 55.2% stakes in RECC. As a result of this deal, the company was renamed Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles PVT. LTD. In 2016, the company was again renamed Mahindra Electric Mobility LTD.
In November 2018, the company launched India’s first three-wheeler rickshaw, built purely indigenously. The launch boosted Mahindra in the electric vehicle segment, and almost 4 years later, the company has completed 50,000 satisfied users. The news was given by the CEO of Mahindra Electric Mobility, Suman Mishra, on her Twitter handle, “50000 electric three-wheelers so far. A giant thank you to our pioneering customers! A thrilling milestone on the journey towards sustainable last mile mobility”.
Mahindra electric three-wheelers are known for their robust and lightweight body, a good range of 130 KM, and a battery which can last up to 5 years.
