Mahindra Veero LCV Unveiled with Diesel & CNG Options at Rs 7.99 Lakh
Mahindra & Mahindra has launched its new light commercial vehicle (LCV), the Mahindra Veero, in India. The starting price is Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Veero falls in the 2-ton to 3.5-ton category and is built on Mahindra's new Urban Prosper Platform (UPP). This platform is the first of its kind in India, and it is capable of supporting both internal combustion engines (ICE) and electric models.
For now, the Mahindra Veero is available with diesel and CNG powertrains, while the electric version will come at a later date, although no timeline has been given yet.
Powerful Engine Options and Impressive Mileage
The Mahindra Veero comes with two engine options:
- 1.5-litre mDI Diesel Engine: Produces 80hp and 210Nm of torque.
- Turbo mCNG Engine: Produces 90hp and 210Nm of torque.
Both engines are paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Mahindra claims the diesel version delivers 18.4 km/l mileage, while the CNG version offers 19.2 km/kg with a total range of over 500 km. The Veero CNG also has a 5-litre petrol tank as an additional backup. The service interval is 20,000 km, helping reduce maintenance costs.
Customizable Cargo Options and Payload Capacity
When it comes to cargo, the Mahindra Veero offers customizable options to meet the varying needs of businesses. Buyers can choose between two cargo lengths, 2,765mm (XL) and 3,035mm (XXL), and three cargo types:CBC, Standard Deck (SD), and High Deck (HD). The payload capacity reaches up to 1.6 tons for the diesel model and 1.5 tons for the CNG variant. Additionally, the Veero has a 5.1-metre turning radius, making it one of the most manoeuvrable vehicles in its category.
Mahindra Veero Price List In India
Mahindra offers three trim levels for the Veero: V2, V4, and V6. Below are the prices (ex-showroom):
- V2 CBC XL: Rs 7.99 lakh
- V2 SD XL: Rs 8.49 lakh
- V2 CBC XXL: Rs 8.54 lakh
- V2 SD XXL: Rs 8.69 lakh
- V2 HD XXL: Rs 8.89 lakh
- V4 SD XXL: Rs 8.99 lakh
- V6 SD XXL: Rs 9.56 lakh
For buyers wanting an airbag on the V2 and V4 trims, an additional Rs 15,000 must be paid.
Advanced Safety Features for Peace of Mind
Mahindra has ensured that the Veero meets high safety standards. The vehicle complies with AIS096 crash safety norms and uses high-strength steel (HSS) in the cabin, chassis, and cargo body to ensure durability. The Veero also includes essential safety features like a driver airbag, reverse parking camera, a false start avoidance system, and an immobiliser.
Comfortable and Tech-Loaded Cabin
Inside, the Mahindra Veero offers a comfortable and tech-rich cabin. It comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioning with a heater and demister, steering-mounted controls, and a full TFT display. The cabin seats up to three (D+2 seating arrangement). The Veero is also equipped with iMAXX connectivity, offering over 50 smart features to enhance the driver experience.
