Ola Electric is set to launch a new electric three-wheeler, likely named ‘Raahi’, in the next 3-4 months. This could be a big upgrade in its class if Ola adds air conditioning to this new vehicle to make it different from the current electric three-wheelers.
New Ola EV 3-Wheeler Features & Versions
The new Ola EV 3W, based on recent spy photos, seems to have a simple body style. This is designed with a focus on maximizing space and practicality. The Ola 3W has square headlights, a big windshield, A-pillar-mounted mirrors, and doors for improved cabin safety.
Ola Electric plans to offer two versions of the ‘Raahi’: one for passengers and one for goods. The goods version will have a large, customizable loading area to suit various business needs. This shall be a part of their strategy to enter the commercial vehicle market.
Tapping into the Growing Market
The timing of Ola Electric’s entry into the electric three-wheeler market is perfect. More than half of the three-wheelers sold in India in 2023 were electric, upwards of 580,000 units. For Ola, this is an opportunity to get things right.
Ola’s strong technological capabilities are expected to give the company a big advantage in the EV 3W market. The company will be able to introduce its new electric vehicle quickly through its existing ride-hailing service, Ola Cabs. It can use its large driver-partner base to promote and sell the new vehicle.

On September 5, Ola Electric MD and Chairman Bhavish Aggarwal said, “Three-wheelers have always been on our radar from the beginning of Ola Electric. We have also showcased some technology focus on this, and our entire manufacturing technology strength that we have built in two-wheelers is going to be easily transferable to three-wheelers when we choose to bring out our products,”

Ola is also strengthening its position in the electric two-wheeler market. Superior battery warranties, fast-charging stations, and added service centres can help Ola Electric succeed with the new electric three-wheeler.
